Welcome to

Darling Avenue Reserve,

in the City of Campbelltown

In 1996, this reserve was classified as a "Natural Area - Bushland" after resident input into Campbelltown Council's Plans of Management for Community Lands. The area, which is at the headwaters of Peter Meadows Creek, is dominated by Hawkesbury Sandstone vegetation.

One of the dominant features is the Sydney Red Gum (Angophora costata). Its twisted boughs and its ever changing bark colours make it a favourite with visitors. Whilst the bark may appear smooth and mottled orange in summer, it may be shades of purple, pink, or even blue in winter months.

While this area is close to civilisation, it is possible to walk there without seeing a soul. There is however, ample evidence of wildlife if one cares to examine the trunks of trees for scats and scratches.

Please do not take dogs into this area. There are no facilities, so walkers will need to bring out any rubbish they take into the bush.

Funny colours and images sizes.
